Fuzzy Hardware Tool: An Adaptable Tool to Facilitate the Implementation of Fuzzy Inference Systems in Hardware

A Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) is a system that represents human reasoning based on fuzzy if-then rules to extract valid results from imprecise or uncertain information. These systems have been applied various engineering fields, such as control and image recognition, encouraged the search for development tools provide facilities design, simulation, implementation of FISs. Most available software design FISs developed by scientific community, very few are commercial tools. According state technology, implemented in hardware shown higher performance than implementations. For this reason, different strategies automatic synthesis proposed literature. The FIS implementation, including MATLAB, Simulink, Xfuzzy environment, require advanced knowledge, it necessary synthesize implement program FPGA each time change made code. This paper presents novel approach devices enables direct through graphical user interface. VHDL code pre-synthesized integrated with interface, allowing users experiment input parameters, membership functions rules, without resynthesizing an FPGA. To verify effectiveness approach, experiments were conducted two similar System-on-Chip (SoC) devices, VEEK-MT VEEK-MT2. showed solution significant advancement study providing flexible user-friendly their implementation.
